Historic Bonnet House will be hosting its always anticipated special Spring Fling celebration on Saturday, April 9, from 9am to 4pm. Besides touring the historic house museum – filled with a delightful collection of art and personal treasures from the Bartlett family – and exploring the spectacular nature trails filled with native plants and trees (and the occasional monkey or swan), Spring Fling participants will enjoy beautiful music from the Gold Coast Youth Orchestra, featuring selections from Arcangelo Corelli’s Concerto Grosso Op. 6 No.7; Leo Weiner’s Divertiment No. 1, Op. 20 (“Old Hungarian Dances”); and Felix Mendelssohn’s String Symphony No. 2 in D Major. There will be two separate morning performances – the first one starting at 10:30 and the second one at 11:30, each lasting approximately 30-35 minutes. In addition, the day’s activities will be highlighted by author Bill Sydnor reading from his book, “Mitchell’s Magical Day at Bonnet House,” on the Veranda lawn at 1:00pm. Admission is $10 for adults, and free for children 12 and under. For more information and details, please contact Linda Schaller at (954) 703-2606 or online at [email protected].
